i dont think the PS3 doing that bad. M$ just had a price cut plus an ass load of AAA games so of course it was going to see a huge boost. When the PS3 gets more games and a price cut im sure the sales will be just as big.

 

 They had gears, fable, and a huge price cut, while sony had R2, LBP, VC, etc... and tons of bundles, doesnt even help.

All this doom and gloom for the PS3. It has still outsold the 360 so far this year. (at least for another few weeks)

Amazing numbers for the Wii and DS, Wii can easily become the best selling console ever.

360 did great , they hit the sweet spot with the price cut.

Sony numbers are very meh compared to the competition, simply shows that there is not much demand for 400 dollar console.

Now i cant wait for software.

I really dont think Gears has had alot to do with the sales increase. It is the second Gears on the 360, and most of the Gears fans already have one. Fable? That probably sold a few. The main things are - Price, RROD is less, and MS has added alot of goodies for live and such.

 



End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Exactly. The price is whats going to decide this generation. If the PS3 was the same price as 360 then things would probably look a lot different. And the PS3 is still ahead when you look at the entire year, and considering how bad the economy is its doing good.

People are still suprised over this? (PS3 vs 360) 400$ vs 200$. Stop being so amazed. They both did good, especially the PS3 just by its price tag, people fail to look at that.
