This is going to be hard because all the FF's I've played I really like, but my vote goes to FF9.

A tie between VI and VII.

I never played a FF game till I got the FFIV DS remake.......so my list is:

1) FFIV DS
2) N/A
3) N/A
4) N/A
5) N/A

That's certainly a nicely filled out list, isn't it?

1. FFVI
2. FFIX
3. FFIV
4. FFV
5. all the others suck imho

1. FFVI for SNES. It had the best characters, story and feel. It characterizes the best of the series.

2. FF IX for PS. This one was a gem. It went back to the old school RPG world of swords and magic. It also had great characters, graphics and story.

3. FF I for NES. This is the game that got me in to RPGs. A true achievement in the gaming industry. Unforgivibly difficult and glitchy, but incredible in scope and gameplay.

i find it hard to believe the opinions of people that never played the old games when they came out. I lost interest after 10 but it had mostly to do with getting older and not that the game was bad at all. Many people will choose ff7 just because it was the first one they played, especially the people in europe and people under age 20.
