i have no idea what to get for christmas!

i live in UK and you know what that means?

no tales of symphonia 2, no deadly creatures, no castlevania judgement, no rygar, no mushroom men. no good third party games.

my bro is getting AC for his bday

 

what i want is a good single player  game, and a great multiplayer, that more core than casual. ie not warioware or wii music or anything like that. heres what im thinking

 

single player:  im an action adventure/platformer type guy

super paper mario: i loved 1000 year door but heard this is very different

prince of persia rival swords: is this as good as warrior within on gamecube?

wario land shake it: ive heard good things, nintendo games are usually good bets for me

anything else you can suggest

multiplayer:

mario and sonic at the olympic games: might not be 'core' exactly but sounds great for a core wii party

is there anything like alien syndrome out? or anything else with 4 player co-op?

anything else you can suggest?

living in Europe sucks for game releases (except for diaster which really turned out to be one hell of a game :P)

 

^Sonic Unleashed perhaps? Just got it today from Blockbuster, at £30.

For the Action/Adventures games I recommend Super Paper Mario. Don't try Rival Swords, but Wario Land seems cool. However, my to choice for you is Okami! Seriously, if you want a deep single player game, you have to buy Okami. It will last you dozens of hours and is fantastic.

Surprisingly, there aren't many good party games right now. You have Brawl and Mario Kart, so they're out. I suppose you can get Rabbids 3. Call of Duty: WaW is a great multiplayer game, thing is the multiplayer is online only.

Anyway, get Okami and I'll leave the party game to someone else.

Unfortunately for you I don't consider myself hardcore or anything like that, so I can't help you.

Do you have Metroid Prime Corruption. if not do you ourself a favor and buy it

How about Disaster? I think as hardcore as you can get.

Here are my recommendations:

Metroid Prime Corruption 3 (First person adventure/platformer)
Resident Evil 4 (this game is greatest on Wii)
De Blob (platformer)
Call of Duty:World at War (great online Multiplayer, great single player)
Mario Kart Wii (super fun Online and offline 4 player multiplayer)


Super Paper Mario was good but not as great as Super Mario Galaxy.
I havent played POP or Shake it so I can not comment on them.

There are other great games that dont fit into your categories ie: Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 Wii. This game made me a soccer fan due to its innovative and fresh controls. One of my favs on der Wii.
