I'm afraid there are no condolence prizes for comming in second palce in the foray of the global market. Just because a console did as well as it did in spite of insurmountable odds doesn't make it any more of a success or an asset. Certainly its not a bad piece of hardware but its software sales are abismal and i fear you may just be simply looking at hardware sales alone in your summation of the PSP's value.
Sony doesn't need condolence prizes. The PSP is profitable for them and continues to sell well. If you finish your university education, would it be nulified by people scoring straight A-s? Actually if you were handicapped by learning in foreign language I may even be more impressed.
Condolences for weak performance may be better suited for Microsoft. With all its resources and monopoly might going for this company, they never actually managed to make a profit with their XBox business and even fell flat on its face by releasing the least reliable console in modern console history.....
The DS also has remote connectivity
I am more interested in being able to access the multi-media such as photographs stored on my PS3. |
If you had bothered to read my entire response you would have seen that I had also listed the Xbox as a similar situation. Unfortunately it seems you only read the first paragraph and made a dismissive response not only forgetting your original point of challenging the limited success of the PSP as little more than an appeal for its secondary features but then once again contradicted yourself by saying you want it for those very features instead of gameplay such as multi-media and photographs on your PS3.
The Gamecube also made Nintendo money but I don't think anyone would consider that a success. So what is your point in saying the PSP is making Sony money. It didn't for a very long time and even if it is now, I'd have to question exactly how much. The whole point of my original comment was that the PSP was more valued for its secondary features (you yourself proved this) and as such a dismal prospect for the PS3 to endeavor should the Blu-Ray become its more desired feature. You responded by saying "it's doing as good as it can for where it is", but that doesn't change the fact that the fact that it is still more desired for its secondary features than as a gameplay console. I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve here. I then called you out on your "give the PSP a pat on the back" defense and you got even more defensive seeming to forget where this argument even started and began mud-slinging consoles. You even coped out failing to respond to the entirety of my response.
Get your argument strait next time, or, more importantly, figure out what your argument is first before jumping blindly to the defense of a console that wasn't even being insulted but was rather having factual flaws pointed out.
