i thought these things were discontiuned, didn't a few companies say they were only developing for blu ray and dvd, not this format,

why are they still selling this

Target was selling for 20$... too bad they sold out. I really want to use my x360 as a dvd player without using the dvd drive as a dvd player..... If you know what I mean.

I still think it was the better format, price wise and all. Blu-ray is just too damn expensive!

Yeah clearing old stock is fine but that's a ridiculous price at this point. $10-$20 would be reasonable.

No, not as far as I know.  I bought the HD DVD add on about a year ago, and I thought that it was one of the worst standard DVD players I have ever owned... it was worse than the first DVD player I got back in '99.
