The Remaining Wii Stock could have something to do with the massive supply surge at all retailers, even the sears my bro works at has been getting good shipments. They are still selling out, it is just not where people are going turboman for them. It takes maybe 2 days to sell a major shipment.

Also, not that I want to doupt SSJ, but I have worked in retail back in the day, and you dont put electronics on clearance for space. Walmart only makes a very slim margin on Wii HW, it was not advertised so it was not a "lure" like the great 360 deals which WERE advertised. Either u are full of BS or your store manager is a dumbass... selling a popular product at a loss to make space??????? Does not compute.

our store manager isnt here, his grandmother died so he is where ever. One of the assistant managers made the decision to sell the Wii at a lower price.

How are you lacking for space if you just cleared out the majority of your stock in one day. You seem like a fibber.

You dont know how retailers like WalMart prepare for the holiday do you? We get like 16 trailers delivered, the night before all or most trailers are unpacked, empty trailers are taken away due to sales expectations. We didnt sell much backstock. It was all new product that was in the trailers for weeks.

Come on now, what you're saying just doesn't make sense. 57 people showed up, bought a wii for full price, and then when the price was droped to $199 not a single person showed up. Plus walmart.com was having trouble keeping the wii bundle at nearly $500 in stock today.

fibber fibber

Indeed he is, SSJ12 has lied about numerous things in the past. I'd go so far as to say hes compulsive.

not really, my sources are basically all posters here now a days. Who I wont say but you would be shocked at what positions some of the members of our community holds in the retail and game industries.

PR Managers try to stay on top of whats going to happen but things change. Still we did get an announcement on ICO 3 didnt we, no footage but confirmation of when we will get footage. So really I win.

How'd that real brozne PSP work out?

Since when do Assistant managers have the ability to cut prices?

Hell even Managers tend to have to go through regional managers for pricing.

Last time i worked at a Wal-mart actually they couldn't change prices at all without the products being damaged.  They got all the decisions from corporate.

at my local walmart they had 100 wii's for today, about 70 360's and maybe 50 ps3's

the wii only had ten left at 9am this morning, the 360 still had about 25 and all the ps3's were still there. but all the BR players on sale was gone within an hour. there was more then jsut the 125 BR player too and most of them got sold and not the ps3. but the wii was hott and flying out hte door. same goes with the software. so im expecting really big numbers for wii coming next week here in the states.

I was reading the Retail Musing thread on GAF, and the typical consensus was that PS3 sold like complete and utter shit at most places, given the huge price point.

And that MS's 199 price point for the Arcade was truly the sweet spot for sales. That sold out everywere as far as I remember. I was in Best Buy for a bit, and the Arcades were gone, Pros and Elites were in abundant stock, Wii's were gone, and the PS3 display looks like it barely moved since I saw it put up. But I did see a few LBP sales, and a Few 80 GB + R +C + Casino Royale sales, but nowhere in the league of White (Wii) and Green (360) boxes.

It's going to be an UGLY NPD for PS3.

And I can't wait.

Will force them to price drop this overpriced mother-fucker. I hope the PS3 gets truly annihilated in NPD. They'll price cut the minute after that happens.

It does sound a bit strange. 33 Wii boxes don't take up that much space, about the same a 4-5 RB/GHWT kits at most. Those are the space eaters, all that music crap.

There is a major difference between a website that supplies the USA and a store the supplies a 40 mile area of mostly old farts and teens. We have been getting shipments of 60+ for the last month. Sales are down due to the demand is probably almost filled in my area. PLus 57 people didnt just show up, it was WAY more. Just no one that wanted games it seems considering our camera, blu-ray, DVD player, and PC sales.

You have no idea how freaking small my store is due to it being a promo store. Our back room would fit three times in the WalMart 15 miles away from its back room.

The good thing about this thread is if you don't belive SSJ, the turnaround is pretty quick. NPD is in 10 days right? We'll see in 10 days if PS3 sales were really this good or not.

I don't think they're good, but ssj could be right and prove us all wrong.

@D,eister J

As much as you want sony to cut the price, even if the ps3 sells 100k this NPD, its not going to matter, they CANNOT cut the price at the moment, if they do they will lose another billion, and that isnt going to help the playstation brand at all.
