Haven't purchased LBP yet so can't comment on that one..
Gears of War 2 is my no.1 for 2008, despite the matchamking problems its just pure genius, Horde is the most fun ive had for a long time.
Mario Kart Wii is also good fun, so that would be no.2 and my no.3 goes to GTA4 which is another super fun game released this year!
I only have a Wii but I nominate...
1. Super Smash Bros. Brawl
2. Mario Kart Wii
3. Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World
This year I havent purchased many games from 08, Ive been mostly going through the backlog. From what I have played, this is what I think:
1. Fable 2 - loved the original, sequel did not disappoint.
2. Braid - dont know what your policy for XBLA games is, but Braid is great.
3. Lost Odyssey - filled a huge RPG void at the beginning of the year
Award X: The Orange Box, specifically Portal - words cant describe the awesome
handhelds: dont own any.
PS3
Valkyria Chronicles
Little Big Planet
Metal Gear Solid
XBOX360
Fallout 3
Fable 2
Gears of War 2
Wii
SSB Brawl
Fire emblem Radiant Dawn
Mario Kart
edited to fix the name
