Look Carlitos ,the PS3 has for this fall games like
Call of Duty 4 Quake Wars Uncharted Unreal 3 Haze Assasins Creed Eye of Judgement Folklore Ratchet and Clank Socom Confrontation Rock Band Guitar Hero III Army of Two Mercenaries 2 Medal of Honor Airborne Singstar Lives Blacksite Area 51 Timeshift Little Big Planet Stranglehold NBA2k8 NHL 2K8 Pro Evolution Soccer 08 (that will sell millions of PS3 in Europe over the months )
And thats without counting the games that will arrive some time before as Lair ,Heavenly Sword ,Warhawk ,Colin Mc Rae Dirt or Madden 08 ...
Maybe you think that Mario Galaxy ,Mario Smash Bros and Mario and Sonic are a better lineup that the cited above ,but that only shows you are a fanboy Carlitos .
Both the 360 and the PS3 lineups are far more brilliant than the Wii one .Wii doesnt need to much to sell ,its low price and some casual things as Wii Sports are enough to sell the thing ,but from there to pretending convincing anyone that the Wii effectively has a better lineup is a leap of faith only someone crazed (literally ) by Mario can do . |
It's a lovely line n all, but how the hell is it going to sell consoles? I mean, I follow the video game industry quite alot and intend to buy either a 360 or PS3 in the future, and even I don't have a clue what the hell half of those games. how the hell is the average games buyer going to spend $600 on a system when they probably don't know what any of those games are minus the EA titles and Guitar Hero (which is one Wii / PS2).
Mario has selling power, Smash Bro's has selling power, Sonic has Selling power, as does alot of other Wii games. Games like Heavenly Sword and Lair are never going to eclipse the sales of even a Mario spin off, and although it might seem unjusified it's how the industry works nowadays.
The Wii has a better line up in terms of sales potential (I think it's better overall, but that's entirely subjective and not worth debating). The Wii has the most recogniseable franchises, along with a far wider appeal that PS3 and 360 simply don't have.
This debate is pointless and really going no where (as is the way with vgchartz) but I shall leave my input with this. Just consider that one third of console owners are female, and the only console that has any appeal to that demographic is the Wii (My Sims, Animal Crossing, WarioWare, Boogie, all the Petz games etc). How can the Ps3 and 360 compete from a sales perspective, when the Wii has a huge proportion of the industry all to itself (please don't forget the female market is just one demographic the Wii has all to itself, while 360 and Ps3 simply can't try to obtain).
