It frikkin costs 189€.
vs 479e.
=290€.
You can buy both PSP and Ds with it.
Or buy Xbox 360 and Wii.
Parents are going "o my son needs that console which should I buy"? Hmmm Ps3 479€ geez or hmm XBox 360 for 189€.

sony are in a position were profits are more important than market share right now. they obviously think the effects of a price cut won't make them as much money as if they ride out the christmas storm at it's current price. i think they are correct.

Sony deserves it Muhahaha!! And everybody thought this gen would be vary even in sales :P.. Next gen will be the most interesting one yet.

Except that the 360 has way bigger software sales and that's where profits come from . Also the price difference excuse is irrelevant .Sony and MS made their choices at the beginning of this generation .

OT: PS3 has a terrible week. And if trends are not deceiving will have a terrible holiday, which it can't really use.

(Although you might still see a few PS3 exclusives in Japan, given the low 360 install base there.)

The thing to worry about at the moment would be Sony as a company. They need all the profit they can get, and the 360 stealing HD sales from them is not helping.
