Forums - Sony - Is it time to except third and just start enjoying the PS3?

PS3 is having the best third place in console history, imo.

Ha!  I like your point.  Whichever does end up in third place, 360 or PS3, they will have done better than the poor ol' Game Cube.

I already enjoy my PS3. Whether it is first (out of reach), second or third will not affect my enjoyment in any way.

However, I still want the PS3 to do well. It is my favourite console this gen, and hopefully if it does well, they won't do a major redesign for the PS4. That, and if PS3 does come in second, which I don't think we can entirely discount yet, because for god's sake, the 360 just got a price cut. In a near-recession. You would think people would learn a lesson from all of those "360 is doomed" threads a few months ago.

Sony are not all dancing and happy in daisy fields, but they are not going bankrupt anytime soon and SCE is not going to be closed.

Why, if it takes 2nd - does that you mean you can't enjoy it?

Its still early days - for ALL platforms.

Well, while PS3 looks like it will be 3rd, it could still very well come in 2nd. So how about this:

We accept that PS3 can either come 2nd or 3rd, but also enjoy it's games at the same time. I don't see why we can't do the two things at once.

Guys relax, there is still a good chance that Sony comes in 2nd.
First you should not forget that the XBox was released one year earlier.
So how much is the Ps3 now behind?
Like 7 million, I believe. It houldnt be a problem for the Ps3 to sell 7 million a year.
They already did it! So when you take those facts into account the ps3 is actually selling way better than the Xbox did

I think he mixed accept and expect. Oh well

Anyway, I loved my Gamecube, despite the lack of 3rd part support, and it's obvious that the PS3 will outsell the GC and get more 3rd party support.

So yeah, just buck up for a few years and hopefully Sony will patiently wait out the generation and then bring out something awesome next gen

As long as you enjoy your PS3, it really shouldn't matter if its 3rd place.

Never understood people giving a crap about sales numbers.

Not as if 3rd parties are giving up on the PS3.

Why would sales stop you from enjoying great games?

I triple this, regardless of sales the PS3's 3rd party support is pretty solid, with really good 2nd party titles still to come and a big 1st party list to, even some PSN games thrown in between the fray of it all are worth it.

Like Darc said you should't care about sales, just enjoy your console plain and simple.

Of course i still say the PS3 has a solid chance of at least becoming on par with the 360 in terms of total sales maybe a litte more or less, to say the least but its just my opinion.

Point across, be a gamer, not a cryer. :D

I've enjoyed my PS3 for the past year and a bit.

Second place is still more likely than third place for the PS3. It has sold a lot more than the 360 had at the same point in its life (2 years in) and it is more expensive then the 360 was at the same point in its life.

Doesn't matter what console you have, or what place it comes, you should just enjoy the games. Besides it's not like the PS3 is doing bad, all the consoles are selling pretty well, just the others are selling more. All the consoles have some exceptional titles, just enjoy them.
