How many times must I tell you people?
If someone likes a series enough to buy a $400 console to play it, they will have done so for the first game in the series

PDF said: If KZ2 can become the shooter on the ps3 then yes. I was hoping R2 to do that but its not going to. Every year there is either "the" shooter. Last year was CoD4. This year is interesting. We have a # of games gunning for that spot. CoDWaW, Gears2,R2,KZ2. Last year the shooter was multiplat. This year 4/5 are exclusive. Gears more than likely to become the shooter that everyone talks about on the 360. The is much more in the air. Will it be cod or R2 through the holiday season? Then can KZ2 come through and steal both games momentum and become the PS3 shooter of th year? I think KZ2 can. Thats only half way to becoming a system seller. KZ2 has to become "the" shooter by force and a huge margin. Only then will it get attention from 360 owners like Gears has many ps3 owners attention
You're forgetting a little game called Halo 3 last year as well.
Killzone 2 is hyped in the gamers community, not outside at all. It's not PES or GT...
And as good as the game is, it won't move so many systems. Look at what LBP did...
Now only a big price cut will move some systems.
Not a small cut, a BIG cut. 50$/€ won't move many. Now only a one hundred cut can do something.
The only complaint I hear around me when talking of the PS3 is that it's too expensive. 299$/€ would be a great pricepoint for this system now.
They will know Helgan belongs to Helghasts
I think its going to be an awesome game! But will not sell hardware in any apreciable numbers. There have been too many good shooters out already from Halo -> Gears 1/2 -> RFOM -> Call of Duty IV/WAW.
Tease.
Not the magnitude of MGS4 or Halo 3, but yes, it will be a system seller. It will sell consoles like Fable II sold consoles. Maybe more. Because, judging by the almost-unanimous beta impressions, Killzone 2 is awesome.
And Sony actually knows how to advertise now.

but the PS2 never cost $400 =(

Yes, the impressions I've read in mainstream magazines is "more of the same" and "boring". But of course it will sell a few million copies to the hardcore and start huge flamewars on the Internet forums.
ZenfoldorVGI said: Well, you've got to think. What have been the biggest "system sellers" for the PS3 so far? GranTurismo5P and MGS4. It won't be as big as either of them. So, if you think this is going to be Gears of War 2 PS3 version, lower your expectations.
but K2 is looking to blow G2 out of the water..............i wouldnt even say the 2 are comparable
the grafix in K2 are shockingly good, and i belive we will never see a game like it on 360.
gurilla have also proved you can have the best grafix with most action without the need for mandotory installs.
...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...
PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

Sony knows how to advertise now? Really? Then how do you explain away Resistance 2, Little Big Planet, SOCOM and Motorstorm 2 all not hitting a million yet? Between all four they have approx. 1.5 million in sales. That's their entire Fall lineup thus far...1.5 million. How can that be anything but poor advertising?
HanzoTheRazor said: SONYsan has already said that there is a price cut comming in 1st quarter next year. This, combined with the stellar Killzone 2, will be a system seller indeed, IMHO.
Actually no, there was a rumour that there is a price cut coming in March next year. Sony denied this, because to not do so would be to commit financial suicide as nobody buys a PS3 for 4 months.
