Forums - Sales Discussion - Month of July: Console Sales Summary

@To Whom it may concern

People keep talking about PS3 selling well for $500/$600. However, the increase in PS3 sales saw only a small increase in software sales. Meaning? People are buying the PS3 as a BR player.

Not everyone buying a PS3 buys it for games, nor the prospect of buying games in the future.

IF the PS3 didn't double as a BR player, THEN I would acknowledge it selling well at such a high price.

Around the Network

@donwii, you do know that because sales for software have not increased alot does not mean that people are using it just for blu-ray. Most people will go to blockbuster and rent games or go to EBgames and get used games. Plus people can go online and get lots of games from the PS store.  And people are still using it to play PSone and PStwo games.

They are just spoon feeding the masses and with more blockbusters on the horizon than any other system atm whats going to stop the sales?

If you are talking about the wii then LOL. As far a list of blockbusters goes, the wii is the weakest of all.

 This is entirely a matter of perspective and opinion.

And claiming otherwise isn't?

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

What about people buying it for future games, are those totally discounted?

Also, we did see an increase in Resistance sales last few weeks, directly attached to the increase in PS3 sales.

 LOL

 Your like the peoplle that complained Resistance attach rate was awfull that PS3 was just a Br player, its damn near 40% these days.  People dont buy 10 games right away, it takes time.
