Final-Fan said:1) Let's start with me agreeing that not all games can be done on the Wii, including Eternal Sonata (at least at this point in the Wii's life). But: 2) "I've never seen a single Wii title that looks remotely as graphical as any major X360 title." (Emphasis added by me) There's a thread up with videos of Forever Blue AKA Endless Ocean. ( http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=5151 ) If you watch one, then you will have seen just such a game. 3) "the X360 has about 10x the Wii's hardware abilities" I think that you are exaggerating quite a bit here, which is very bad form when castigating someone else for his hyperbole. Example: 729MHz x10 = 7.3 GHz > 3.2 GHz. If the 360 is truly TEN TIMES more capable of graphical prowess than the Wii, I am unaware of it and would like to see proof. 4) How many cel shaded Wii games have there been at all? When we see some maybe we will be able to judge them against those the 360 is getting. 5) Unless I am greatly mistaken, and in this case I'm not, the Wii does 480p graphics instead of just 480i. Yes, it's still significantly inferior to the 360, but it's an important difference. BTW, do you realize you just said, 'The Wii can't do 720p graphics because it can't do 720p graphics'? |
2. I saw the video(s). They look nothing as good as a game like Kameo - a first-gen X360 game. Thats not saying FB doesn't look good, but the second I saw the pink oceanic trees, I giggled. Theres no lighting depth, and the trees look very flat.
3. The Wii has ONE 729MHz processor and ONE core. The Xbox 360 as one processor that has THREE 3.2ghz cores. So 10x is 7.29ghz and the X360 is 9.6ghz. Not only this, each of the cores has 2 threads further expanding the computational power of the CP Units on the X360.
4. I wasn't *just* comparing cell shaded games, but any games (if I was just saying Cell Shaded games, why'd you bring up Forever Blue anyways?). For Cell Shaded games, you do have Eyeshield 21, Crayon Shin Chan, GT Pro, Bleach: Wii, Gundam: Scad Hammers, No More Heroes, and Negima!? Neo Pactio Fight! So it's obvious that the Wii has plenty of cell shaded games. Many look great, but still fail greatly in comparison to IdolM@ster, Crackdown and Trusty Bell.
5. Actually, your right - the Wii can export max resolution to 480p in PAL and NTSC territories.
