Forums - Sales - will NXE, Translate Into Higher xbox 360 Sales ?

i think NXE, will bring more xbox sales, so many site give a positive impressions, and casual user like it.

some interesting quote from various forums

from neogaf:

now this is a shocker, last night, my non gaming, usually prudent spending wife mentioned we should get ANOTHER xbox 360 for the bedroom, just so we can stream netflix in there too! she also had me buy her a wii awhile back, though she rarely plays it, so to me she represents the casual everyday market consumer.

so now I know this shit is crossing over. wife's of the 30+ gamers all over the country have a reason to get on the xbox regularly.

i know we are already addicted to it, in a big way. it's such an amazing feature. one thing i also love is how it remembers your position in a movie or show. so say you leave and turn off your 360, the next time you turn it on and go back to that movie, is has a "resume" button to pick back up right where you left off.

The Netflix streaming is more compelling than I ever imagined it'd be.

I can't stop browsing, adding to my instant queue, and then watching... watching tons of stuff I never thought I'd see due to circumstance or access.

For the first time, it really feels like the living room set-top box concept has come of age.

Am I crazy or are there like an insane amount of people playing their Xboxes after NXE? I haven't this many active friends since like Halo fucking 3.

I don't think it will drive 360 sales significantly but I think it will result in more people using xboxlive more often which should result in more gold accounts and more revenue for MS.

It'll certainly get Netflix alot more money. I signed up, and I know a lot of people really like it.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

This.

As for helping M$ sell more...it won't hurt it.

He quoted NeoGAF! Ban!

On a serious note, no it will not. At the end of the day, despite reviews and impressions, it's a revamped menu screen. How large an effect did the PS store redesign have on PS3 sales? I say multiply that by five and you get the 'boost' from NXE.

Really, Home is more likely to sell consoles, but that won't sell much either.

ah i say it will boost casual gamer side of xbox 360, and will be translate into higher sales, so many forum gives positice impressions, even ps3forums, especially netflix side of thing.

I think the main part is by confronting users with a sexy new interface they'll boost word of mouth sales by getting people talking about the console.

Tease.

The Netflix streaming functionality will be a major selling point to the casual buyers. They may know very little about gaming but they immidiately get it when you talk to them about streaming 12,000 movies.

Netflix is going to be major selling point for this holiday season. It is also viral. You can imagine the holiday dinner demos where you show your cousin the neat movie streaming and he goes out the next day to get one machine for himself. It just demos great!

Later on, just the improved experience will lead to better customer satisfaction from the system and word of mouth will increase sales.

Prediction made on 11/1/2008:

Q4 2008: 27M xbox LTD, 20M PS3 LTD . 2009 sales: 11M xbox,  9M PS3

Yeah, because positive forum quotes can sell anything.

Everyone on the interwebz loves Okami, and, look, millions of sales, absolutely dominating every chart for months after release. The Wii version didn't have as much success, but it did top 12 million. Man, I can seriously see this effect translate onto the NXE and 360.

Oh, wait.

I imagine it will get a lot more Netflix and Gold subscriptions going but I don't think it's going to sell a lot of 360's.
