Forums - Gaming - Are sales figures 'geeky'?

Yes it is and it doesnt bother me one bit. However many people take them way to seriously getting defensive or insulting.

Analysis of sales numbers are geeky, there's no other way to look at it. Using sales numbers, review scores, tastes of the gaming populace, the publisher's push on the project, the dev's track record and speculating the impact of said game on competition more so.

And that's what makes me come back to VGChartz.

Also, this kind of thread necromancy would get this thread locked at one point or another (on other forums. Not sure about this one.)

You know that you've been here too long when an ancient thread like this has been necroed and you see a smart assed response from you in it.

Of course it is! It's geeky enough that a hot girl like me is purseud by gamers, geeks, and jocks alike!

That guy has some serious moves.

When I saw the date on this post, I thought I just stepped out of Doc Brown's time machine.

Hilarious and really random.

And yes keeping track of games is geeky. It's rare to find individuals that are interested in how much they sell, let alone actually track their numbers. Few actually wake up and say " I wonder how much FE: Awakening is selling, or how many pre-orders Destiny for PS4 has"

Yes, that is the only true answer here.
