I would rather purchase the premium without a game for three hundred dollars without a game thank you. That has got to be the worst pack in offer I have ever seen. There are so many generally good games that would be a welcome sight as a pack in. The price is pretty good value if the pack in were of a high quality, but it simply is not if this is true.

This add just gives me the feeling that someone is trying to make a cheap Wii ripoff. Hey lets try to copy the Wii pack in. Well if people want Wii sports they will go buy a Wii and save fifty bucks.

There is a real value there however if you do not want that specific game then you probabally feel the savings are not that great.

Microsoft will make another price drop.
Same for sony with a true wolrd wide price drop.
I am asking myself : who will make the 2nd price drop in first ?

Sony ? or Microsoft ?

and even if the Core goes at 200 euros I dont think it will help a lot.
People want the Premium pack.
Later this year, a Premium pack at 300 euros will be good for Microsoft.

Time to Work !

$20 off the core does absolutely nothing, and the fact that the premium got a bigger cut and a pack-in game jsut kills it. I'm assuming they mean to say that the Core's days are over. If they wanted to continue selling the Core it would have been essential to drop it as much as the premium and get the pack-in in there. And, really, if they wanted to use it to get into the budget gaming space they'd have cut it $100 to the Premium's $50.

The move to $450 on the Elite is good. It kinda helps forcs Sony's hand to give another good price drop relatively soon.

You do not have the right to never be offended.

I believe the free game is a deal specific to Circuit City, not an official pack in game.

So you guys are expecting another price drop this year? So one in August and one in November? That sounds too early for another drop.

it all depends on the effect of this price drop...if it has a strong effect we won't see anything if not we might see another price drop just in time for christmas. Quite plain i think...don't you?

If Microsoft wants do be second in the American market in the long run (after wii), i believe they'll need to do something drastic with their prices this year, and these drops aren't enough (they appear to be a lackluster response to Sony's drop).

judging on the effect of PS3 price drop (that will be probably over by the end of August) i think that 50$ less on the best selling model is more than enough as an answer...i would have dropped the price of the core of 50$ though (in oreder to "steal" some casual gamers to Wii)

I'm just confused ...

The $20 price drop on the core seems to make the core less attractive as an item because after you buy the memory card the price difference between the premium and the core is an amazingly large $20, you don't have HD output (RCA output), and you lack 19.5 GB of datastorage.

Essentially, they have given Nintendo another year uncontested at the 'affordable' price range which will allow the Wii to pass the XBox 360 in North America. I wonder if after the Wii has outsold the PS3 and XBox 360 combined in every region Sony and Microsoft will realize that you have to Market your product as a high end product and price it at a level where people with a below average income can afford it if you want to be truely successful.

well the ps3 drop was $100. i can imagine that there were alot of people who were will to pay $500 on a ps3 but not $600. i cant imagine there are many people who werent prepared to pay $400 for a 360 but are prepared to pay $350.
