This was the best FPS game ever to come out on a nintendo system

Does anyone know what my screen name is from?
Fantastic videos! I really like how the first one highlights just how much game Metroid is. It's the best parts of Zelda, Mario, and Contra all rolled into one massive title. Awesome. This really brings out the Metroid fanboy in me.
Super_Etecoon, yeah, I recognized that when I first saw your username. :)
Part 2 of 5? How many games are left? The Primes...Zero Mission...uhhhh
Great stuff, anyway...this gets me very hyped for Metroid 3, or just Metroid in general.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release. (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

On the subject of hard games, yes metoid was hard. Ninja Gaiden 1, 2, and 3 were all hard, but I remember beating all of them, and without any kind of guide. Battletoad, however, that game was ridiculously unfair. Never could beat it, although I came close.
Of course we forget that one of the reasons that those old school games were so difficult was because many times once you died or ran out of continues it was back to the drawing board (you would have to start all the way from the begining.
Other hard games on NES I remember beating are:
Ghost and Goblins
Castlevania (the very first and orignial one)
Shingen the Ruler (a strategy game by Koei I think, a Japenese friend of mine gave me the game, because he could get nowhere on it.)
Adventure Island (never could beat it as a teen, I picked it up almost twenty years later and finally managed to "rescue the princess)
My most memorable moment from an NES game was beating Contra without dying one time, and while never picking up any special weapons through the whole game. The only thing I grabbed was the rapid fire which of couse made the original gun you start with shoot faster.
awesome, I can't wait to see their summary of Prime (it seems it's likely to get it's own episode).

Looks like they're doing Prime 1 and 2 next. Which probably leaves Zero Mission, Prime Pinball, and Prime Hunters for 4. Or they can take Hunters and put it in 5, along with whatever brief acknowledgement of MP3 they have planned. And knowing these retrospectives, they generally do something towards the end, like the timeline for Zelda. Maybe a list of Samus cameos/appearances in other games like Smash Bros.

I think Prime 1 and 2 = episode 3.
Zero Mission, Pinball, and Hunters = episode 4.
Other appearances, Preview of Prime 3, and summary = episode 5.

Fusion I was my first Metroid. I was not that interested in Metroid until I played it. The series have a lot of value. At first I though Prime was a stupid idea (I hate most FPS). After playing it I admit that I had to eat a giant crow pie. Metroid is like one of the most hardcore of hardcore games. I still have the feeling it is underated. I plan to play Zero mission and Super until I get my dirty hands on Prime 3.
