Considering the price of the PS3 the sales are not that bad, but there is now way a $400-$500 console will sell as much as some of you would hope in this economy.
All is not lost for Sony so don't get it twisted, the price will go down and the PS3 sales will be on par with Sony's exceptions.

Your "end of story" comes a bit soon. After such a price cut, the sales of the 360 are good, but I don't see them crushing the PS3 the way you all tell... And they are both crushed by the Wii.

When I see these sales, I feel more like "Is that all you can do MS?", good luck when the PS3 will have another price cut then.

Anyway, time will tell but I'm sure we're far from the end of the story between these two.

That said, Walmart is heavy Nintendo turf, so imagine how many MORE Wii systems were actually sold. That number could be close to a mil.

@ OP - I think that its true, XB360 survived through the PS3 launch and is still showing off a solid library for a system that's now starting its 4th year. Add that in with XBLive service being one of the most respected forms of current online play, the 360 has proven itself to be America's HD system of choice.

Sorry I skipped page 3 and parts of 4. I have it set to 50 posts per page. Anyways this thread is just a cluster f***. Good thing I'm a nintendo (most of the time) fan who happens to be multiplatform owner. I like both microsoft and sony aswell!

I think the argument that has been used is "wait for X game". Sorry PSrock but ps3 fans do abuse that line. Just like they abuse the line "XXXX is the year of the ps3."


Also Leo-J in terms of Console Exclusives Sony hasn't won this year in terms of AAA games: PS3: 2 (MGS4 and LBP) 360: 3(GeOW2, Braid, and Geometry Wars 2) Wii: 3 (SSBB, MaBoShi: The Three Shape Arcade, World of Goo)

In terms of  overall Exclusives and Non Exclusives AAA titles this year: Sony 7, 360 6, Wii 4.

^^^ overall as in since launch? I'd put a few more in the Wii basket. Zelda TP and Mario Galaxy for certain. Much better games than SSBB, which is good, but not AS good. Also, you could put Mario Kart Wii up there. I'd also put RE4 up there, personally.

Mario Kart while an awesome game isn't AAA in scores.

I personally don't care about scores, I was just pointing something out. My favorite games this generation are Tales Of Vesperia, Tales of Symphonia 2, Super Mario Galaxy, Bioshock and Left4Dead, not all of the above games got awesome 90+ scores.

Well, it's advertised at half the price, but the 360 is actually quite a little investment, if you want to do it up right. The people buying 360's are really casual gamers on the average. They also buy hard-drives, XBL, headsets, and in some cases a 99 dollar wireless adapter.

I'd wager that, in the Americas at least, people who buy the arcade 360 also buy more crap to go with it, than people who buy a pro or a PS3.

I would bet that it will be doing that next week and through Christmas.
