The 360 and PS3 share the majority of their games, but Microsoft seems to have the slightly more important exclusives for the Western markets. That however is pretty much offset by Sony's stronger brand recognition in continental Europe. So the momentum between the two systems will mostly shift due to pricecuts and rarely due to a game release.

If we assume that the PS3 beats the 360 in Japan by an additional two million by the end of its lifetime, that still leaves the 360 with a four million lead in the Western markets and as mentioned in the previous paragraph, it looks unlikely that the PS3 could overcome this. The lifespans of both systems will end at pretty much the same time, because they are both dependent on each other in terms of third party releases, so the supposed advantage of a longer lifespan for the PS3 is unrealistic.

Yeah, but that is still based off of demand for the first 2 years. It's expected that it would be large.

I think the PS3's total numbers will far exceed the 360's total numbers when both have stopped selling. I mean, the PS3 is still $400+ and it's only had 1 real system seller. But I don't know if it will overtake the 360 before the end of this generation, it really depends on when the next generation starts.

Who knows what it would be. Estimates could range from 50k to 120k for another 100$ price drop. However, it suffices to say that we shouldn't even be talking about a price drop when it isn't going to happen.

at the long way... yes they are enough to match it at least
those games have great legs especially GT.

remenber 5 millions ps3 sony sold in the worse times without games.

considering ps3 huge first party games (GT5)

ps3 will likely stay at least one year more than the xbox.
