Forums - Sony Discussion - What are some nice 480p PS3 games?

So my glorious hi-def television just died.  Actually, it was brutally murdered by drunken friends of mine who got a little crazy while playing the Wii.  Anyways, the tv don't work no more.  But my PS3 is still functional, and despite being unable to replace The Beast for at least six more months, I sincerely want to continue getting some solid use out of my machine.

For the next while, I'm back to using my standard definition television as my primary source of entertainment.  To my surprise, Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm looks beautiful on it, mercifully it is compatable with 480p televisions.  Heavenly Sword, not so much.  Looks like anything above 480p turns into crap on my screen.  So I ask you folks out there, which games would you recommend that I get for the PS3 that would look stunning on my television screen?

I actually thought Heavenly Sword looked pretty good in 480p.

Folklore looks alright in 480p.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

You dont need to play your ps3 games in HD, just that when you play in HD everything looks significantly better(with the exception of GTA IV, the game looks like vomit).

Before I had my HDtv I used to play Uncharted and Gt5 P on 480i now I play 1080p and it is great but I can go back to 480i without a problem. 480p still has a great picture especially if your tv is smaller than 40 inches.

Ultimate Ninja Storm was the only thing that I could think of. I remember hating GTA4 in SD..... I could bearly read the cell phone.

And I actually stopped playing Folklore for over a month until I got and HDMI to DVD-D cable to play my ps3 on my 19 inch Computer monitor. The font in SD was too much work to read, and being an RPG it felt pointless for me to play if I had to strong to know the story..... I went from unhappy 22in SD to happy 19"in 720p Happy. And soon I will go to 26+in HAPPY!!

I don't play in 480 anymore, is either my HDTV or my monitor.... if you have an HDMI-DVI-D adaptor and a DVI-D computer monitor you can use it, of course, it's not the same size, but at least is something...

Eh, any idea when your TV is back? That sucks.
