Ok, so the other day, VGChartz Japanese numbers came up, and they didn't match Famitsu's figures.
They were the same, except the PS3 was much lower at VGChartz.
There was, of course, a great rabble about how indeed VGChartz must be under-tracking the PS3.
The numbers seem to have been adjusted, but maybe they aren't, I don't have a photographic memory, but I figure with such an uproar, something was done.
So, today, when the through 11-9 Media Crate numbers are released:
• Nintendo DSi - 104,897
• PSP - 43,726
• Wii - 24,726
• PlayStation 3 - 18,354
• Xbox 360 - 12,759
• Nintendo DS - 8,381
• PlayStation 2 - 5,743
The boost from 80gb GT bundles, GTAIV, and LBP, according to MC, didn't have the hardware selling legs Famitsu seemed to think they did.
In fact, with the nice 360 bump, the difference between the 360 and PS3 aren't huge, in Japan.
The lesson here is, don't make assumptions.
Sometimes, all tracking sites differ from each other. These are just estimates. Don't flame one for "being wrong" because the other has your favorite console as selling more that week.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.
