Yes, I think Diamond is very unlikely on 360, but it is a third of the way there on day 1. I think 360 can do 800k, and PS3 can do 600k. I also expect GTA will boost hardware sales quite a lot, so attachment rate doesn't need to be quite so high on current hardware, as GTA IV attach rate to new consoles this month will probably be well over 50%.

Sorry, duplicate post.

Congratulations to MKWii and Wii Fit for their great sales in UK.

Well, PS3 isn't even at 1.2M yet, so it will still need to sell some hardware to actually "only" need a 50% attach rate to get to double platinum on PS3. But given first day sales already gets it almost halfway it seems doable for PS3, although I wouldn't call it a 100% certainty.

Hopefully we'll get HW LTDs or attach rates from Chart-Track on Tuesday (Monday's a bank holiday) as they did with Halo 3 release. They usually give out a lot of data for things like this due to the mainstream media being so interested. We'll probably get HW percentage increases in MCV too, but I doubt they'll give hard numbers for that.

Wow, didn't take GTA very long to get double platinum. PS3 should get double plat next month.

Check out MyAnimeList and my Game Collection. Owner of the 5 millionth post.

That's weird, May awards must have only been through May 24 as this week hasn't even ended yet. I was expecting it to finish today.

Anyway, we had a pretty good idea where the newer games would be, but good to see where a few of the slow burners are at now:

HEAVENLY SWORD: 100k
PROJECT GOTHAM RACING 4: 200k
FIFA 08 PS3: 300k
CALL OF DUTY 3 360: 300k

From the length of time it took these games to pass those milestones we can tell they're only just past those totals. It's probably the last time we'll get any UK sales figures for those titles too.
