Forums - Sony Discussion - Finally - get the BluRay performance of the PS3 in a standalone player

So in other words, 360 fanboys now have a way of getting a Blu Ray player? Cause you gotta be crazy to grab this instead of a PS3 (if you like video games).

@ reasonable.... but that option doesnt have gears2!

True, true.  And I am glad to see very good entry level BR players coming out.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Its a good player -- but really do you to have a USB stick hanging off your BD player (yes you need a 1gb USB stick for profile 2.0 on this player).

Currently PS3 is still one of the best blu-ray players, with only those standalone's which rival the PS3 in price (or are more expensive) managing to surpass it in area's like audio codec support...

already got a ps3, but 250$ its a good deal, but overall 150+$ for ps3 its great.

What I want is a blu ray player you can connect an external hard drive to.

What the heck for?

Nor does it have built in wireless to play Gears online (£50 still is it?). Not everyone has or wants cables spread throughout the house.

Real gamers play wired

That means, real gamers have their 360, PS3 and Wii controllers wired also???

BTW: House Season Premiere, playing a 360 in a veg room

@ jordahn... oh.. sorry... I meant an unbiased one.

No, I've seen it said time and again that PS3 is up among the best available blu-ray players, and has been at or near the top for its entire life.

This makes no sense, because there were plenty of people who bought the PS3 just for a cheap Blu Ray player and not to actually play games on it. This may not be easy for you to believe, but Sony made it real easy for them.
