What did you expect to see no boost from the HIGHLY anticipated, million selling, second game of the franchise Gears of War 2? Compare the prices between both consoles, and the game's that recently came out, and THINK about it before you say it. |
He's pulling a trestres; that is he's naysaying his favorite console to seem less fanboyish. Waste of time, in my opinion.
The BuShA owns all!
Very good sales overall in EU. There is a very healthy demand for all of the consoles so all gamers should be happy. And there are so many ways to look at these sales in context which in the end, all is doing well. Grow up, guys. Set aside your pettiness and learn to be gamers. It seems 90% of the posts here are putting gaming second and personal agenda of the failure of a console first. Not good.

Isn't the 360 elite £229? Oh that's right, Sony fanboys never refer to that SKU because they need an excuse for the 360 outselling the PS3. |
lol wow

The probelm is Sony 1st party can't make enough games for PS3 to be self-sufficient. If they somehow had Rare all gen, and Sony Japan actaully did something other than make Loco Roco and Patapon, they would be absoulty fine in terms of games. In terms of PS3 vs Xbox though, PS3's current library> Xbox's enrie library. |
Well, I completely disagree. I think that the 360 has the better library of the two consoles, overall. Yes, it had a year head start. No, the PS3 hasn't caught up yet. I think most people would agree with me. :P
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.

Price matters more than launch times. Saturn beat PS1 to launch, but its $400 price tag vs $300 price tag and lack of early games killed it. Over time, PS1's price lead remained as it continued to cut its price. It stands to reason that next year the 360 pro will be $250, thus keeping the $100 price difference between the standard PS3 and 360 models. |
Actually, the Saturn's price was eventually cheaper than the PSOne before the discontinuation of the Saturn while the N64 was also cheaper than the PSOne. Also, the Gamcube was cheaper than the PS2. But I do not agree with CrazzyMan's assertion of domination, but I do think that SONY has done an excellent job of staying in the game with no foreseeable signs of waivering. The big picture here is that the PS3 is VERY successful for being released one year after the 360 only in two major territories, has plenty of 3rd party support, the 360's one year lead did not prove to be the runaway success as the PS2 was (a lie by Microsoft because the Dreamcast was released before the PS2), and the PS3 is still the most expensive console. Now, it's easy to point and laugh at the PS3 and its users because it's in third place. That's what 10 year olds do (not referring to you, Hawk.) But it's SONY's turn this gen who's pushing competition because they sold the most consoles the last two gens, forcing both Nintendo and Microsoft to compete more fiercely now. And I don't think that everyone will agree that the PS3 is everyone's system of choice, but there is no doubt that its offering are worthy because being in third place this gen is still a good position given the context of the console gaming market. Congrads to the growth and vitality of the console gaming industy and also to SONY for making a third place console thus far more viable and legit than any gen as of date. All sales are good. Be happy with it.

Just SONY by themselves, I will agree with you in general. But I don't think it's that great of an issue when you compare the PS3's current situation to the Gamecube of last gen. I do believe that the core Nintendo fanbase is stronger than SONY's, but I also feel that SONY is in a much better position as a 1st/2nd party developer/publisher now than before which I believe is what has helped them come this far this gen with the PS3. And I must agree with you, that this gen I think the PS3's current library is better than the the 360's for my preference while I know this doesn't apply to everyone. I'm just glad a friend of mine demoed his PS3 in my home a while back because I was originally very apprehensive towards buying one and didn't think it had a future. It seems I was wrong.

Well, i know the 360 was launched worldwide in Nov. 2005 and the PS3 a year later (yes, before Dec. 2006). I know there is something specific I'm missing. Please tell.
