There is a big problem with the OP when he calls it the worst generation ever and praises the console with the absolute minority in sales while bashing the rest of the competition.

When someone makes an opinion that deviates too far away from that of the general public, he either is biased or plays video games like how picky wine tasters drink wine.

This is a warning: Don't you ever speak bad about the classic Resident Evils. They're still miles above RE4. Now go play REmake and return a wiser man.

Tell me the above is not correct in any way, shape or form and I'll show you someone with poor eyesight. Granted, the points are modified somewhat but the general argument still remains that these are indeed the weak points of this gen, at least to some extent. As a long time gamer, I don't rightly know what I'd do this gen if it weren't for my PC.

Lair - really bad clone of Drakan,

looked at Metroid Prime 3(best shooter this gen), Super Smash Bros Brawl(best fighter this gen), Mario Kart(great arcade racer if not best this gen), Super Mario Galaxy(best platformer since super mario 64), Wario Land, Endless Ocean(best sim on consoles for a long time), Captain Rainbow, and Battalion Wars 2 lined on my shelf - yeah he's just another blind hd fanboy guy trying to knock wii down just because it's selling better.

The DS saved this generation for me, IMO.

Instead of just owning games, I highy recommend actually playing them.

As for the fight I suggest some rules. You represent RE4, I represent REmake. We will judge on:

1. Scare level (key factor in Horror games)
2. Story
3. Graphics
4. Hardcore level/difficulty (like number of bullets/herbs available)
5. Quality of the puzzles
6. Gameplay

I think we can argue about the Gameplay, but REmake owns RE4 in all the other points.

I apologize, sir, I thought it was implied that I had played the game. I am not an unwashed iconoclast, in spite of evidence to the contrary. I am quite washed, if you will. I also played through Resident Evil 2 - both ways! And then I played Hunk's mission, and it was great.

Also, I feel you are stacking the criteria unreasonably towards the REmake. RE4 isn't survival horor. It does not try to be. In order to even it out, I would suggest these additional criteria, which are quite naturally not the horror game's forte:

7. Kicking ass and taking names (or: Feeling Like a Bad-Ass)
8. Boss fights
9. Enemy AI
10. Humor
11. How Many Regenerators Each Game Has
12. Number of Ill-Tempered Spaniards
13. Replayability
14. Guys in coats

Yea, were this RE2 you could argue about 14, and I suppose you can still argue about 13, but you can plainly see that the REmake will not win this contest, fair admin.
