Hm..wow, that's hard!
I owned: Atari 2600, Genesis, NES, Gamecube, Wii
I think that the best is........the Wii with the Genesis in a close 2d >.>
In order from Top being the best and vice versa.
I. PlayStation Trinity (3) (My "Main" Console of choice in this so called Next-Gen.)
II. PlayStation Dual (2) Note: In terms of RPG's in general this is still number one, untill WKC/Versus XIII Comes out that is, then its an entire new ball game boys.
III. PlayStation Single (1) (Were Final Fantasy VII was born)
IV. PlayStation Pockect (Portable) (Final Fantasy VII on the go)
V. Nintendo GameCube (Gave to my mom)
VI. GameBoy Advance SP (Pokemon City, other then that meh..)
VII. Super Nintendo (Great Times)
VIII. Sega Saturn (I dont remember much on this one)
IX. Sega Genesis (Good times)
X. Nintendo 64 (I Hated this Console so, so very much)
I Would Place a Nintendo DS and a Xbox 360 in there but i dont own them yet so when i do, i'll be sure to give my opinion on this subject some day again.

Whoever says this gen has the best consoles are being kinda dumb... I mean the gen is no where near over and the real memorable games this gen has been MGS4, CoD4, Gears (maybe), Galaxy, and Smash Brothers. But out of all of those only Gears is a new IP. Not to mention this gen singleplayer has taken such a backburner no one wants to put the effort into making a quality experience and the time it takes to complete a game has on average been cut in half.
Gaming console is all about the games and this gen doesn't have it yet, don't give me the whole "this console equals all these others combined" cause if you did you'd have to say Wii... it has N64, SNES, NES, Sega Gen, Turbo graphics, etc and a lot of the best games from those consoles have already been released.
Back on topic.
Best consoles:
1. SNES
2. N64
3. PS1
4. Sega Gen
5. Gamecube/GBA tied IMO

60gb is the best console ever made IMO why? its a ps3, its a ps2, and its a ps1 =) |
I bought my PS2 for ~$100 so obviously able to play ALL PS1/PS2 games, not happy paying extra ~$350-400 for PS3 60GB - that's just couple of games, not worth it. PS1>PS2>PS3, imo ;)
ps3
ps2
psp
gameboy color
i have a gaming pc too and i would stick that after ps2
Every system i owned played an important part of my childhood
I can't choose.
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is the best Zelda title ever made.

I'm more of a console sort of guy, so don't take offense to the placement of the handhelds. I love all of my game playing electronic devices (but obviously some more so than others).
1. N64 - With titles like Ocarina, Mario 64, Kart, Smash, and Banjo... how can you possibly go wrong?
2. Genesis - Still holds my favorite game of all time, along with 3 other superb titles that happen to star the Blue Blur.
3. Wii - Super Mario Galaxy (aka Game of teh Evar), Metroid Prime 3, Twilight Princess, Okami, Smash... plus tons of my favorite childhood games from past consoles. Beautiful.
4. GameCube - It was an evolution of the N64 (Wind Waker, Sunshine, and Melee), and that can't be a bad thing. Plus it introduced me to Metroid (Prime) and Resident Evil (REmake and 4)
5. DS - It reaffirmed my love affair with the Castlevania series. Plus it allowed me to go out of my gaming box and try out the new and unexplored. I never looked back.
6. GameBoy Advance - An evolution of the GameBoy. Plus it introduced me to new franchises such as Metroid and Castlevania. Schweet!
7. GameBoy - Pokemon! Plus it was my first entry into the world known as Nintendo, and I turned out just fine. Right?
