Also put in your OP

early indications are KZ2 kicks Resistance 2's ass.....if we are to take the word of the people in the BETA for both games.

From reports about KZ2 and a link MM476 sent me today on steam, the game kicks some major booty. Between it and L4D I have all my multiplayer needs more than covered. Thats one major reason I guess for my prediction.

Speaking of this, why the hell aren't you on Steam!?!  You've been away all day, but apparently you had time to seem link.

OT: I think it'll sell around 3 million.  It might match the sales of R1, and might even outsell it if it's bundled again.  I just think Killzone 2 will destroy it's legs come February.

But then again, Halo 3 kept selling after Call of Duty 4 came out.

I'd say it does about Resistance 1 numbers. the reason Motorstorm 2 is off to a slow start is Motorstorm 1 was bundled.

Going with the trends shown by Motorstorm, the other launch title to recieve an update is RFOM 2. Since it was available with little competition and since then a whole range of shooters have been released on the console.

This time its competing with: Call of Duty IV (Still selling), Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, Far Cry 2 and in a few months time Killzone 2. I doubt that it will be bundled either, Sony would most likely prefer to bundle 1st parties rather than pay insomniac for the priviledge. It doesn't have the luxury of not competing with other games on the system.

With all the new titles being released, perhaps it might end up getting lost in the shuffle, especially with all eyes now pointing at KZ2s imminent release.

Not trying to troll, even stealthily but hey unpopular predictions are made all the time.

Probable but doubtful.  Game has a lot of hype and gained some decent brand appeal after the first one.  Like Halo, it'll probably get the mainstream tag of Playstation's shooter, even over that of Killzone 2 which is probably only more known by the core.  I'm thinking it should be able to do about 2 million by the end of the year and get over 3 million in 09.  But I'm not saying that as fact because it's a difficult title for me to predict simply because I have really no idea how it'll open.

i think rfom2 will sell like hell. because it looks bigger plays better and own gears of war2 in multiplayer.
Motorstorm2 demo is crap, the real game is much much better. just check my video review and check your demo.

I agree I don't think Resistance 2 will be as big as the first one.

I think for it to outsell the first one it needs to get bundled, otherwise I think it will come close, but fall short just slighty.

So let me get this straight... Resistance 2 will sell well because in your opinion it plays better than a game on an entirely different console? Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Why even mention Gears 2?

I've just pre-ordered this. Think it will sell better than the first game despite being up against COD. Those PS3 owners who want to play a good Sci-Fi shoot em up and look enviously at Gow2 will buy it, especially if the reviews are good.

I am largely platform agnostic. I fail to understand why some people get overly fanboyish about what is an inanimate piece of electronics that's obsolete even before it's launched, when there are far more important things to champion, such as preventing environmental destruction or preventing millions of people dying unnecessarily from illnesses. This fact however, doesn’t mean I am not someone who doesn’t enjoy gaming as a pastime (as I have done for the last 20 years) or doesn’t have a strong interest in how the market is evolving – hence my presence on this site.

Platforms owned – PC, DS, X-Box 360, PS3, PSP and Wii.

If people don't buy this game then they're missing out on the best co-op system seen this generation. Add a brilliant, lag free 60 player online system and a great campaign and you'd be dumb not to buy it if you were a PS3 owner. The only other real competition for it on the PS3 is CoD, which bores the hell out of me because it is WW2. FarCry 2 was a let down.

Someone has already posted the facts elsewhere, but Resistance: FoM was not heavily bundled as everyone thinks. Bundled sales count for less than 5% of the game's sales.

This is very hard to comment on as we dont no the opening week scores for it in the US. Also it doesnt get released in EU till 28th NOV
