That system sounds like it could be useful to get my girlfriend involved, definitely... maybe I'll be allowed to shoot nazis for hours without getting shouted at.
@Wiped: You better let her do the steering, then.
I think you have to buy QoS for your splitscreen needs, and it support upto 4 players.

Yeah, but then you have to play Quantum of Solace. Talk about your Hobbesean choice.
Does anyone here know why developers aren't doing local multiplayer as much anymore? It's a bloody brilliant idea, and we've had it since 1994, so what gives?
Edit: "Hobbesean choice" is completely the wrong reference. Unfortunately, I can't remember the right one right now. Help, anybody?

QoS wasnt that bad either, many gamers already said that the online and splitscreen mode were awesome. But I do agree the single player SUCKS but that same goes for HD console versions...

Is that so? I haven't heard anything positive about it, but I'll admit I haven't been paying close attention to it either. But if the multiplayer is great, I can easily ignore a crappy single-player mode. Hmm...

there's plenty of games that still do local multiplayer. some even do local multiplayer + online play simultaneously. While the emphasis is now most certainly on online MP, there's still lots of great local MP games. Off the top of my head: LittleBigPlanet, Gears of War, Warhawk, Resistance, Halo 3, Boom Blox, Pixeljunk Monsters, Mario Kart, etc.

Sorry for being unclear. I was referring to local multi-player in FPSs. Granted that there are some exceptions, but it used to be mandatory; now it's the exception rather than the rule.
