"The company posted a notice to its website yesterday announcing that it finalized a contract with Nintendo on November 4 covering the development and sale of Wii and WiiWare games in the Japanese market. "

So any game they make for the Wii is probably a year or two off. Unless, that is, they intend to make WiiWare stuff in the meantime. I don't see why else they'd bring it up. But WiiWare games are only 43 megs.

Are they planning to abandon their SRPG bread and butter for a bit? Or are they going to make an SRPG emulating SNES/Genesis SRPGs? I'm curious to see what they have in store...

I have to copmletly disagree. They wont work on WiiWare in the meantime. Im sure they'll work simultaneously on a true wii game in the genre their best at and a WiiWare game.

Wait, I'm confused now. Are you saying you don't think they'll make any WiiWare games at all?

Ah, I see what I did wrong. The way I wrote it could be read to say that they won't be working on any SRPGs. What I meant it to say was that any WiiWare game they make may not be an SRPG (or it may. That's what I'm wondering aloud about). Poor phrasing on my part, I'll admit, and sorry for the confusion.

That aside, what genre do you think any WiiWare game(s) they may or may not make will be in?

Lol no I said Im sure they will work on WiiWare. They'll develop both games same time while focusing more on the true disc game for Wii.

Oh yea I got you. Yea I also doubt they'll make an SRPG for WiiWare. Hmm. Im not too sure. Just hope its unique. Cant get TOO ambitous on Wii. Keep it simple fun.

Well their Wiiware project is called "Let’s hitch-hike"

I'll let you guys speculate what the game might be about.

They should make a shortened Disgaea game for WiiWare, and call it "Minute of Darkness".

EDIT: Or a series of them. And considering how much time the "Hour" was for the first game, that's still a lot of game time.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Looking forward to Disgaea 2 or 3 on Wii.

Wow nice. I love Disgaea. Just finished 3 a few weeks ago. I would much rather a new ip though.

Disgaea 3 didn't exactly sell gangbusters (180k as of now) and that is definitely not profitable for work on an HD system.

So besides the handhelds, the Wii is the way to go.

Right, because Disgaea 3 was such a big investment.
