You own 200 Wii games? So you have spent almost 10.000 dollars/euros on Wii games, and you only liked a few of them?

How many games do you play? Seriously, I simply cannot believe you. If you average 5 hours for most games, and 15 hours for the last 20, that means you have played 1700 hours, or 70 days of gaming since the Wii came out. Now the Wii has been out for ~ 700 days. So if you bought one at launch, you've spent 1/10th of your total time, or 2 and a half hour a day, on a console which isn't the one you would rather play on.

Well Wiisports is 5 games, Wii play is 9, Mario and Sonic at the Olympics is who knows how many, deca sports has 10 (I'm assuming).

Well, if they aren't all Wii games, but adding both VC and WiiWare into the mix, the 200 figure can be more feasible (loads of NES VC games).

I think that when ps1 entered the market, the videogame started to change, to become more adult.

After 12 years in which the game industry moved towards the range of 20-40 years old (thanks to ps1, ps2, dreamcast and xbox), ninntendo company has created a console for all those gamers (children, women, casual gamers) that did not feel reflected in that previous market. And maybe this is one reason of its succcess.

I think it is more of a case where the people who played NES when they were 5 back in 1985, would now in 2008 be 28 years old.. or those who started further back and were 5 when Atari 2600 was around in 1977 would now be 36 years old.. i think that is the best explanation for the current age of gamers, because ps1 seriously did nothing special to attract [new] people older than those who first played on atari and nes

Actually, the strong point of Wii is appealing to EVERYone, and not women and children, as the thread maker is eager to conclude. Women and children bought the PS1/2 also(dont tell me there were 100 mil adult,male,serious gamers), so they arent exactly new into the equation. The last consoles meant entirely for the purists were Saturn and, to some extent , Dreamcast. Sony was all about the home entertainment system marketing, which did appeal greatly to non-gamers. I love Nintendo's core first party titles, Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Fire Emblem, Pikmin, Brawl

I also love their casual games, Playing Wii sports/Play with my family

Unlike you, I think that graphics enhance a good game, but do not consider them anywhere near as important as things like gameplay, music, plot and simply how fun it is to play. On all of those 4 aspects, I find that the Wii has the advantage.

The wiimote has been used badly in many games, but has been used incredibly well in others (metroid, mario kart, Wii Sports, even the remake of Resident Evil 4 is much better than on the PS2/GC)
