Actually, the strong point of Wii is appealing to EVERYone, and not women and children, as the thread maker is eager to conclude. Women and children bought the PS1/2 also(dont tell me there were 100 mil adult,male,serious gamers), so they arent exactly new into the equation. The last consoles meant entirely for the purists were Saturn and, to some extent , Dreamcast. Sony was all about the home entertainment system marketing, which did appeal greatly to non-gamers. The relatively slow start by blu-ray is whats holding them back this gen
