Unfair comparison if you ask me. No doubt that a hyped FPS will sell more than a (half) hyped RTS, even when the franchise name is huge.
Oh and could someone please tell Iwhatee that he is a blind fanboy ? thanks

I would hope that Halo Wars would sell better. I don't know if it will but if it does it's on the name and the fact that there a lot of people who have played an Age of something game and know what Ensemble can do.
I know a lot of FPS gamers who have played a RTS game in some form and for the most part liked it, so I'm not going to be surprised if it does sell better, but I don't expect it to right now.
In regards to game sales Halo Wars and Kill Zone 2 should be both guaranteed over 2 million game selling titles.
In regards to being console hardware sellers. Well Kill Zone 2 will be selling to people who already own PS3's and who have previously bought shooter games: Call of Duty games (COD 4: MW, COD:WaW), Resistance 1& 2, etc. The original Kill Zone on PS2 sold modestly and it received mixed reviews.
Halo Wars could be XBox 360's surprise console seller. Halob Wars will sttract RTS fans and people looking for something different on the XBox 360 and it could be the first stand out RTS console game. Rumour has it Diablo 3, and a possible Halo Wars sequel and a few other RTS games could be coming to XBox 360 as console exclusive in the future providing Halo Wars is successful from a sales perspective. Halo Wars having Halo in its name could help sell the game on brand name "Halo" alone could attract a couple of million buyers of the game.
With both XBox 360 and PS3 having some good games coming out in 2009 with Halo Wars Vs Kill Zone 2. It looks like the HD console war battle between XBox 360 Vs PS3 "Fight for Second Place" is intensifying and we all look forward to seeing how 2009 unfolds.
From a betting perspective my money is on XBox 360 to hang on for second place over PS3. Currently as of Jan 12 the XBox 360 lead is over 8 million consoles over PS3 in worldwide sales and that gap will continue to widen over 2009 unless PS3 price is dropped.
Sales wise I really dont know. Halo Wars hmmmm. It could do 5 million it could do 2 million. It is a Halo game. And theres at least 6 million people involved in the bungie community just for the story of Halo, so alot of people will buy it for the story arc alone.
I think for KZ2 to gurantee outselling it, it needs to be a 5+ million seller.

Technically it is an unfair comparaison ....
BUT it happened on this forum before the release of the (blockbuster) LBP.
The sales previsions tried to compare LBP vs Fable 2 sales.
Everybody was in favor of the tsunami LBP ... lets check the figures now
LBP : 1.82 mil
Fable II : 2.34 Mil
Now we are talking about an RTS vs FPS... but sure why not... Halo Wars could beat Killzone 2 indeed, but I wouldn't take a bet on it
Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

slap !.... halo isn't anywhere near as big a franchise as gta.. not dissing halo but casual people don't even know what halo is while they know what you mean if you talk about gta or grand theft auto. Not to sidetrack. Same with Gran Turismo btw.

Now that I think about it, you're right. GTA > GT > Mario > Halo > Killzone.
Also, Killzone 2 does have a good chance of getting 9.5 from IGN.
Wow, did I really type that two months ago?
Wow.
