This kinda proves you haven't played it. Being prettier isn't the only difference. This time, the game is actually has decent controls. I'd call that I large improvement.

 

Valkyria Chronicles is the Game of the Year for me.

Actually I HAVE played the game, albeit not longer than say 4 hours. The thing I really get annoyed aboutis that even the slightest criticism (it's not even really criticism to compare a game with its amazing predecessors) will get people on the defense about this game.

By no means I'm saying this is a bad game at all. We're in a GotY thread and than I think that innovation should play a big role. And yes the shooting is way better in 4. But you're still playing the same game. That's why I think it won't win the major awards. Maybe I'm wrong, we'll see.

 

 

that would desqualify everything, and only Little big planet would win.

I second that Axum, I beat it on my 360 and after that the game felt like a morgue, even while playing through the game felt boring, VICE CITY BEST GTA EVER!!!!

While I'm not one to say The Dark Knight is one of the best movies (it's still better than MGS4) I do have to agree with you, I've been dying to see another Shawshank Redemption.

I'm sorry, but while i consider The Dark Knight one of the best movies in recent years, it is in no way better than MGS4.

Actually i personally find the story behind MGS4 more interesting and much more elaborate, and the delivery, combining basically every storytelling medium known to man, from manga to theater and film, much more exotic and overall more entertaining.

Both have chessyness, which is a very daring tehnique that succesfully helps in creating contrast in both cases, both have melodrama, both succed in creating believable contexts, both concentrate on the characters and their motives, both deliver very strong messages, both have sublime action scenes and both are targeted to the more intelligent of the viewers/gamers while having enough content to satisfy at some level any kind of IQ.

Beeing a game, not bound by the two - three hours time limit of a motion picture, MGS4 has the luxury of not rushing things and unfold in a slower more passive manner, more similar to a play or mini-series rather than a movie. But make no mistake, once things start moving, MGS4 is every bit as good as the best Hollywood has to offer.

But regardless of the quality of a product, there will always be unsatisfied customers. There are thousands of people that rated The Dark Knight 1/10 as there are thousands that rated Prestige or Memento or Matrix abysmal scores.

Above a certain level of quality, it's really all about opinions and personal preferences.

First, you didn't mention them. Second Fable two is not more of the same, however I would agree that both Gears and Metal gear solid are. As to Little Big Planet it sure got good reviews, but I like many gamers am not a fan of specifically artsy games.

 

 some1 hasnt played many RPGS before.. :)

My prediction: NATAL WILL NOT help 360 sales. Maybe a 50-100k boost week 1, then a 30-70 k boost week 2, and back to the norm again after 3-5 weeks.

Those things don't make a good movie first of all. Second of all MGS4 does not equire ANY IQ to be enjoyed, from my experiences. I felt MGS4 was a mediocre movie with some REALLY good gameplay for intermissions.

 

Also, Dark Knight does not deserve to be called better than some movies, far from it actually.
