Forums - Sony - What sony should have done instead of a Slim PS2...

Well, sony had a great success with their ps2, and it deserved it. A few years after the launch, sony introduced the pstwo, a simple slim version. But, at the same time, they gave japan a much more interesting thing: the PSX. PSX is an improved playstation 2, with a big hard drive, a beautifull design (IMO), a brand new interface: the XMB (remember we're in 2003). It allows you to record tv programs and to save pictures and music, in fact, it's like a ps3 but with ps2 specifications. Now here is the point of my topic. Instead of the pstwo (slim version), sony should have launched the psx. This would have shown people how usefull a media center is and maybe, playstation 3 would be more successfull now. Of course, the price (I think it was around 800$ in japan) should have been lower (a 20GB HD would have been enough at that time). If you want more info about the PSX, follow the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PSX_(DVR) If you want a picture of this beauty, guess what? Yeah I know this is a gorgeous console, much more beautifull than wii, ps3 or 360. I would have sex with this thing if it was possible!

back away from the psx!

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Wow. I had no idea such a machine existed. Would have loved to have one at the time.

Wow thats awesome didnt even know about that..I woulda definetely bought it.

Looks like a extra large DVD player

Well, the problem is price, I think the slim PS2 was the right way to go, it also makes the step to PS3 larger encouraging consumers to switch
