Yeah, Gears 2 is slightly better, imo.

I'd compare Gears 2 closer to KZ2 than to R2.

While Gears 2 actually almost matches the grandiosity of R2 with its levels, it lacks the sometimes muddy visuals and un-refined textures that R2 can sport on close inspection(when inspecting a scorched vehicle, for instance).

That's not to say KZ2's graphics aren't very impressive, they just aren't quite as good as Gears, from a technical perspective.

That said, neither game is significantly better than Uncharted(though both are probably better).

I think Gears 2 is pushing the 360 to the brink, while R2 isn't doing the same to the PS3. If for no other reason than that, Gears 2 has better graphical design.

Well I,m bloody tired. Me and my mate have just gone through the campaign first play through. All I can say is WOW.

The atmosphere is second to none. COD4 after this feels enclosed. Gears 2 makes you feel you are fighting for something much bigger than.
The pacing seems so spot on, and after you have done a few levels and the Gears of War 2 screen comes up after an awesome cutscene (they are by a very long way the best ingame cutscenes so far, Stunning).

When you first go down to the caves it's a real graphical eye opener. It's so sharp and the textures are at the very least x3 over Gears 1.

Number of enemies on screen can vary, but I think we counted (during mass fire fight) about 68 enemies at once. 4 larger locusts, loads of smaller foot soldiers and a Brumack. No noticeable slowdown. The story , We actually liked it.

I couldnt care less for the flack people will give me, Gears of war 2 is in my top 5 of all time games. Very very impressed.

As my mates got a PS3 with Uncharted, I can say Gears 2 is definately a notch up. The textures are more detailed, the water looks just as good, but the amount of on screen stuf is upped alot, and the lighting is alot better to. Gears 2 is the best looking game by quite a way.

Dang! 13.5 hours for 1 playthrough?

 Yeah LOL. Started at 6pm Friday and finished the game at nearly 8am this morning. I'm nackered. I'm actually off to bed soon. It was worth it though. We did the same with Halo 3, and most of MGS4. All I can sya is Gears 2 is the game of the gen for me so far. As I said before it's definately in my top 5 all time games.

Nice to see some of these games living up to their hype lately.

The Co-op, Campaign, system-link MP are going to be huge on this game.

I think I did 6 hours straight on horde mode last night with 3 online buddies. just getting from wave 9~30 on insane difficulty.. >__>
