I wonder how they came up with R2 being a worse game than R1?

I don't think GTA IV necessarily wins GOTY in lots of places. I think most review sites believe they got caught up in the hype a bit on that one, and they scored it too quickly, with too few getting full retail versions in time to play it all the way through before posting scores due to deadlines and competition. IGN, 1UP and others have all mentioned this on various podcasts. Plus games released earlier in the year tend to get forgotten with all the shiny new games coming out later.

I think LBP, Fable 2, Fallout 3, Gears 2, GTAIV and MGS4 all win awards from various places. I wouldn't even be surprised to see some love thrown at a downloadable game like Braid or Castle Crashers either.

GTA doesnt deseve GOTY, it was over hyped and overrated...ok maynot overrated because i hear nothing of the game anymore

i think mgs4 will or should get GOTY, like its been out for so long and i hear stuff about the game all over the place

and blah Gear 1 is not even close to mgs2 so i highly doubt that it will out beat mgs4

Fallout 3, it gets them both the PS3 and 360 crowd and will probably help boost GameStop sales of the game.
