I probably don't have the cash to get both at the moment given my purchases of so many other great games in the last month (Bioshock, Fallout 3, Little Big Planet, Dead Space ect., more or less one a week for the last month and a half).  I really like strategy RPGs (and RPGs in general) but, of course, Resistance was by far my favorite launch game and I haven't had a cool new online game since Call of Duty 4 (though Warhawk does remain pretty fun, its certainly not new to me).  

   Any of the PS3 fans from the site pick up R2 yesturday/today?  Maybe we could get a VG chartz 8 person thing going (that 8 person multiplayer sounds insanely awesome), the online aspect is really pushing my decision towards R2, but then again, online is only as good as the people who play it.  

   I'll almost certainly have both by december, its more which one should I get today and which one should I get in a few weeks.

Here's the thing. Valkyria Chronicles is a great game and Resistance 2 probably is as well.

However, 6 months from now you'll still find plenty of R2 copies on store shelves. Depending on how many they make, you might not find nearly as many copies of VC. It's an sRPG and those tend to disappear fast.

Pick up VC now and R2 later. That way you'll get both for sure.

Tough choice, but I'd go with resistance first.

Resistance 2 has online and thus a learning curve specific to online, you don't want to rock up late to the party a month or so later and find everybody kicking your ass OR everybody getting bored of the online co-op missions so you have no one to play with.

From what I've seen/heard, Valkyria is single player only, so it'll still be the same game even if you pick it up a year from now, Resistance 2 won't be (online community may die off by then or maybe cod5 will dominate).

I have Resistance 2 AND IT IS FRIGGAN AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No joke you will love this game.

Get Valkyria Chronicles first. You'll still find Resistance 2 copies for months to come.

resistance 2 its awesome especially the co op i have lots of fun playing a co op with people of vgchartz.

I think Resistance 2 proabably offers more long term entertainment.

Although it might also be worth taking the advice of WoW, copies of SRPG's could dissapear fast.
