Depends how long Sony milk it.... if they stop producing the damn things after Christmas 2009 (meaning it would be produced roughly the same length of time as PS1) then they would have a few months of stock to ship out, then retailers would eventually have to start selling it below what they paid for it.

So to retailers it's better the lower it goes.... my bet it it will reach ~£60 (it's £100 now for reference) with a cut to help sales sometime late next year, and a final cut when they stop producing them and ship the last stock off.

Didn't the GC go down to $50? or would that just be old retail stock? (selling for lower than retailer bought it)

Until Sony officially discontinues it, the price will probably drop. Same thing with the DC and GC, It will probably drop somewhere between $50-100

End of 2009 Predictions (made Jan 1, 2009): My predictions were pretty accurate, the 360 was over and the Wii was just under.

Wii: 65 mil (yea I'm crazy) 360: 35 mil (its getting there) PS3: 30 mil (the slim better do well)

End of 2010 Predictions (made Jan 7, 2010):

Wii: 81 mil  360: 47 mil PS3: 45 mil

I thnk the lowest will be $99.99 by next year. PS2 has a long way to ago before its demise. Jack Tretton announced at E3 that there will be 130 titles released on the PS2. By the time all those games will be released (which probably be by late 2009 or early 2010) the ps2 will be $99.99 or $79.99.
