the 100k it sold in NA last week didn't fall from trucks lol.............

Whether LBP will be huge in Japan is up for debate. Certainly it's outselling Wii Music in NA even though it wasn't officially released last week.
Wii Music has had a much better 1st week (comparitively) in Japan than NA. Both sold about 100k, but Japan is a much smaller market. But in Japan it's dropping about 50% each week for two weeks. Not a sign of strong legs.
We'll see how it holds in NA and launches in Others this week, but with a weak debut, even for a Wii title and if Japan is anything to go on, it's unlikely Wii Music will be able to match Wii Play/Fit's success as everyone expected.
I dont think its a failure ,but its clear it wont be a hardware mover in the same way as Wii Sports/Wii Fit/M.kart Wii.
We have no indications that Wii Fit and (especially) Mario Kart Wii are helping to move hardware.

So people just buy a Wii to use as furniture in their living room ?
Something has to convince them to buy it and common sense would say it's the games that sell the most on that platform ( aside from games you can't really do much with a Wii..)...

What I'm saying is that we have no indication that the library, minus Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii, would not carry the Wii this far anyway. Sales prior to the release of those two games makes a strong argument, particularly with the omnipresence of Wii Sports.
Without knowing how much it cost to develop wii music, it's hard to even say what's a failure, much less to be able to tell this soon.
Many games are a success at 100,000 copies, and others are lucky to break even with 10x that amount.
Nintendo has enough great sells they can afford to have a single game fail. It's not like they are a small developer where they put 80% of their resources into it.

The fact that the weekly attach rate for those games is over 30% seems to point out that those games are among the first new Wii owners purchase, indicating they are some kind of factor in the purchase. It's hard to quantify Wii Sports as it comes with the game...
Wii sports does not come with the console in Japan, and the attach rate has been high for it there. (Although more recently it has dropped off.)
