So people just buy a Wii to use as furniture in their living room ?

Something has to convince them to buy it and common sense would say it's the games that sell the most on that platform ( aside from games you can't really do much with a Wii..)...

 

What I'm saying is that we have no indication that the library, minus Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii, would not carry the Wii this far anyway. Sales prior to the release of those two games makes a strong argument, particularly with the omnipresence of Wii Sports.

The fact that the weekly attach rate for those games is over 30% seems to point out that those games are among the first new Wii owners purchase, indicating they are some kind of factor in the purchase. It's hard to quantify Wii Sports as it comes with the game...
