1) 6th generation! No GT 1 and GT 2 there.
2)As you see, I have used VGChartz data all the time. Other games may be undertracked too, to "fix" the data for one franchise flaws up everything
3) I count all games with "Gran Turismo" in their name, that were released on a 6th gen console. That is,

4 games. 27.29/4 = 6.8225, or rounded 6.82M
That's holy freaking impressive! (over twice of Mario's average, 3.11M).
For the 5th gen, I believe GT has the 2nd highest behind Pokemon.
