Forums - Nintendo - Which game deserves more support: ToS:DotNW or CoD5?

I've never bought or received more than 2 video games during the last two months of the year, but now it seems I will be buying at least three games after I received a nice sum of money from extra scholarship money.

I only have a Wii and DS, so I will buy:

Chrono Trigger, Animal Crossing and  either Tales of Symphonia:DotNW or CoD5

So, which of the bolded should I get? Which one deserves more support? A JRPG or a good FPS?

I thought the original Symphonia was good, but not great and I hear this "spin-off" isn't fantastic either. Still, I'm dying to play an RPG. On the other hand, I really want to play a Call of Duty game...since I've never done so before and I believe it'll be a better game. I'm still undecided, but I've already pre-ordered DotNW on Amazon, which I'm considering canceling until I see some reviews.

Should I cancel my order and pre-order Call of Duty, or keep DotNW?

I guess I could get both, but I don't feel too comfortable spending too much money the school practically gave me to attend...And there's my considering buying Deadly Creatures and an Xbox360...Oh, God!

If you want both of them equally, and are basing your decision solely off which developer you should support, I would say get Call of Duty, for a couple of reasons:

1. The Wii now has no shortage of support from Japanese developers, as well as a decent amount of JRPGs. However, few Western devs are willing to take the chance on making a big, core-oriented Wii game, and there are surprisingly few FPS for this console that is tailor-made for them.
2. Call of Duty 5 looks awesome XD

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

I get the impression you're personally more interested in RPGs than FPSs. If that's correct, the choice is obvious. If, however, EVERYTHING else is neutral, and IF your concern is over supporting a developer, and IF you'd rather not just purchase an older game or three with the same money...go with Call of Duty. Symphonia's going to do quite alright for itself without any extra help. Call of Duty will do respectable numbers, but nowhere near the amount posted by its HD counterparts.

I do tend to play RPGs more, I'm also really interested in Call of Duty. My main issue with DotNW has been that the game might turn out mediocre. So, I guess I should have asked for opinions on the game. And yes, I'm basing my decision partly on suporting a developer and my interets. And No, I dont' want to buy old older games instead of new ones, because I've played most of the good games available on Wii and am only looking forward to the upcoming ones.

i doubt both games will need any help selling, call of duty is established franchise not on wii but it will still sell well.

symphonia has a fanbase from the first game so it should do well too

I will say CoD5 because that way if sales are good that can show developers that those games can sell in the Wii too

Since I hate FPS, buy ToS

COD5, Tales is just an mediocre JRPG franchise.

Still possible though that COD 5 don't get good reviews as well.
