Perhaps I'm being harsh on LBP. We'll see. It seems a lot of my friends online are even playing LBP as we speak so I may be wrong.

God of war II only sold 2.5 mil on the mighty ps2, why do you think the ps3 sales would be so high.

The 360 still seems to be better at selling shooters though. It sold twice as many copies of cod4 and it's userbase sure ain't twice as much or perhaps it's because of the USA?

GT5 seems like the only game with the potential so sell at very high numbers. I shall wait and see.

Most games sell very well on the PS3.
Finding a concrete game that has sold 6-8 million is an interested question ...you notice no game has managed that yet and then you make the question...

 2 Mil is no big deal particularly when there was very little racing games or AAA titles on PS3 at this time. Maybe GT5 will do a little better but I still don't think it will manage to sell over 5 Mil.

true, but i was just trying to think of ips that had a chance... this thread did say it needed to be exclusive right, otherwise ffxiii, is the last one i can think of right now that could do ungodly sales 

First of all, don't judge LBP sales too early

GT5 will be big, prob not sell as much as 4, certainly not as much as 3. but it'll break the 6 million mark that the OP mentioned.

Yeah, I'm also confused as to why people think God of War is a big franchise (not small either, just people seem to put it in the same league as GTA and GT)

After seeing you judge LBP sales....when it

A. Hasn't been released in EU

B. Ignoring ioi confirming week 2 sales for LBP in NA are already greater than Week 1 (that was said on tue I think)

I didn't read anymore of the OP after the disasttrous first line that destroys any credibility of the first post whatsoever.

So WEEK ZERO sales = failure? I think I'll start a thread if Gears 2 leaks early and sales a decent amount of leaked copies and call it an utter failure.

Read through this & then judge the failure of LBP, I posted this in another thread on LBP's "failure"....it was conviniently ignored though:

uncharted was hyped a lot....then it got delayed by a week for some weird supply reason

but Gamestop decided to break the street date by a week....thats all the gamstops in the country....then the week after Gamestop was out of stock....on the other hand all other stores then sold uncharted....

In week 3 gamestop was back in stock.....

It was a confusing first few weeks....thats why as you can see on its sales page the sales went up n down up n down.

STRIKINLGY similar to LBP....except LBP is in a much worse postition as only "some" gamestops sold copies of it....yet it did 164K.....if you do comparisons....

this can actually be used to indicate LBP has the potential to be a MUCH bigger success than uncharted as its

week 1 is 5 times larger.....= 5 x Uncharted LTD NA sales for LBP

So LBP should sell around 3.5 Million in NA if it stay proprtional to uncharted in every way.....

As for LBP let's wait next week to judge its success. But something sure is that it won't meet a lot of PS3 fanboy expectations (it won't be ''huge'').
