I bought HoMaM 3 several times even, and it's downright amazing. Too bad the sequels didn't live up to it... :/

Yeah, they just put out HoMM5. No idea how good it is, though.

I played 3 to death. Never did get any of the X-packs though.

Ay crap.... Blizzard should have picked this one up. They would have done amazing things for this genre. I'm surprised Nival fell into some traps. Their Rage of Mages II game back in the '90s was sooooo good.

They did an OK job with HOMM 5 but it lacks just a little something to be a classic. It's not the pick-up and play game that HOMM2 and 3 were.

HoMM 3 is probably the best PC game ever made. I know I sunk thousands (literaly) hours in that game. I'd like to play some multiplayer but I'm not sure how to. I always play hotseat.

Apparently you need GameSpy right now, haven't tested it out fully but yeah. Man what a great game. My whole weekend is ruined because of it now.

Do pirated versions work on Gamespy? *My reasoning is simple here* I've already purchased the full game twice in my life so I don't think they deserve my money a third time. But alas no disks! :'(

Im a HOMM 1,2,3+Expansions,4+Expansions owner.

I have no idea, but if you are getting the game I'll definetly test it out first. I didn't do any updates so whatever came out of the CDs on Platinum is what I have. Haven't noticed any versoin numbers on the games either. I remember playing this game on Mplayer.com soooo long ago. I wonder if the TCP/IP option will work alright as well in this day and age if it will be just the 2 of us playing.

Edit: Gamespy doesn't support The Shadows expansion, just up to armageddon's blade. So I'm all up for testing out the tcp/ip function.
