Forums - Gaming - Do you buy or rent games?

So far I have purchased all of my games and it is a complete waste of money as I have not played any game for more than a week. I signed up to a rental service yesterday where for £15 a month I get all the games I want and can keep them as long as I want so from now on I will rent games.

Of course there are some major expeptions such as GT5 and Killzone 2 but other games like FFXIII, versus, GOW 3 etc will simply be games which will last no longer then a month and that too is being optimistic. So do you rent games, buy games or do both?

I started renting from an online game rental company at the beginning of October. I rarely get a game in my top 10 list and have to wait 7-10 days before i get another game after i sent one in. service is not the best but its still cheaper than going to the video store

You're renting God of War III?
Wow, wow, wait up. There are rumors it will have MULTIPLAYER!

buy... I have never rented a game in my life.

Well GOW 3 will obviously be fantastic but I doubt it will last for more than a month and I don't game much so am willing to wait. The same cannot be said about GT5 and Killzone 2, need those games straight away and chances are the same will happen with the upcoming FF games.

Same as pichu.

I´ve never even borrowed a game, I buy any game that interests me enough on the systems I own (same with music: If I love a song, I buy the album).

I'm in the fortunate position where I can buy any game I want, but I am still considering gamefly since I buy a game about every other week.

Question does gamefly send a manual? It's not a huge deal, but I was wondering.  Also, is it tough to getting the most popular games?

no gamefly does not send a manuel, they have the controls posted on their site.  still not going to give you all the info for the in depth games like Oblivion.

Money is also not an issue for me but when I see the 7 games I have all I think of is £200 down the drain and I could have played them all for £50 and that too many more games thanks to the rental service. Some games will be purchases but many games I want are rentals as they will have no replay value.

For example FFXIII and Versus, both will be fantastic games but the max I have ever played a RPG is for a month, these will be no different hence are nothing but rentals.

I buy new and used, rent, and borrow depending on a variety of factors.
