I like the idea of a breakable controller. I'd like to explore internet or watch movies by using a remote with motion. This would make a controller multi functional just like PS3 games/movies/internet.

Wii Sports games are nice to have on a PS3 or PS4. Sony shouldn't think they have to convince traditional gamers with motion controls. I don't think they want that unless they add some VR.

Save the money and put it towards a future price drop

this is obviously a more mature wii-mote, aimed at the people who can't be seen using a wiimote.

hopefully this'll have true 1:1 motion.

i think they should just concentrate on adding stuff via updates as to what the sixaxis/dualshock3 controller can do, instead of releasing a controller that looks like crap and is just a slightly better version than the wiimote.

Obviously it's more adult oriented, they even strapped on a nice big globe so that it looks like one of those kiddie toys

guys.. patents are made all the time.. while this is an official sony patent, it by no means should allude you to the idea that it is the next controller... i mean.. (i can't find the links now, but) have you guys even seen the controller design for the wii before it was made? or the boomerang that sony even made a physical version of...

Just saying, the patent is only there to serve as a "just in case", now they won't have any problems IF they decide to go the route of a breakaway controller

I'd get one.  My favorite thing about the wii is being able to spread my hands out while playing.
