i find it interesting that they said  Siren is scarier than both bioshock and dead space,,,who has played siren?is it really that scary?

Anything up to 9 is utter bullshit and doesn't deserve to be even called remotely scary. Reading rest now.

 

Done. No AVP2 means the list automatically fails on every level. 'Nuff said. I have played through a good amount of those games though, never thought myself as the horror type of gamer. I wanna be scared, but I also want to have a gun to blow everythign to hell and not just drop dead and reload....

I can't say personally that it deserves to be number 1 because i have'nt played all the listed games but condemned: criminal origins gets my vote, Its easily much scarier than the sequel and certainly has more disturbing moments than part 2, Anyone out there who aint played the 1st condemned should go get it now, Afterall, how much does it cost now? Like £8/$15?

They're really stretching the definition of horror there...

I haven't played all of them, but Dead Space, Condemned 2 and FEAR are all pretty scary.

Dead Space looks scary AS HELL

Agreed. I haven't played either, but I haven't heard of Gears being particularly scary, and from what I've heard Silent Hill: Homecoming is scary and atmospheric.
I've played RE4, not really all that scary, a few scenes that freaked me out. Still an awesome title though.
F.E.A.R deserves to be there, I've got that and I have jumped out of my seat more than once XD. (F.E.A.R 2 is looking pretty good)
I really want to get Dead Space, that looks like fun. Can't wait to do a little dismembering.Siren, I'm guessing deserves to be there, I've seen a fair few vids and it's very dark and scary feel.

Games are never really scary to me. Movies on the other hand can make me scared when I am alone watching a Horror movie at night time.

I wouldn't say gears was horror, it had like one scary bit, but it was more just "heart-racing" rather than "I'm scared". Geez, if this were deemed scary, I would have put CoD4, because some of the moments in that game were bone chilling.

Anyway to answer the OP, Siren was very scary and stressful especially when you play the child. You cannot fight back or anything, as soon as a zombie sees you, you have to run like hell and hide or it's game over.
