GoW just passed 5 million after 2 years and Halo 3 passed 5 million in 3 months.
It is going to be a commercail success without a doubt, the game is big but i dont think anything can rival Halo on XBOX.The first week will be huge, but it wont sale overall as much as Halo 3.
No, nothing can top the hype of that game, gears will not have the same opening as halo 3 but should have better legs than halo.

Gears of War should be compared to Halo: Combat Evolved - they're both the first games in two prosperous series. And by the way, Halo 2 sold 5 million in three weeks, the question is: is Gears of War capable of coming close?
