Can Halo 3 be rivaled by Gears of War 2?

doesnt need it... 90% (probably) of gears owners loved it and will buy the second and they all know its coming. then there are the new 360 owners. People forget that the userbase of the 360 when gears launched was quite low.

GoW just passed 5 million after 2 years and Halo 3 passed 5 million in 3 months.

 

Gears of War should be compared to Halo: Combat Evolved - they're both the first games in two prosperous series. And by the way, Halo 2 sold 5 million in three weeks, the question is: is Gears of War capable of coming close?
