Forums - Sony - Playstation controllers are faulty

My PS3 Six-axis controllers are a bit dodgy aswell, having owned the original PS1 analogue less controller, the DS1, 2 DS2's and wireless PS2 controller without a single fault.

My analogue sticks make odd clicking noises when rotated full circle and my 2's (L and R) are pretty spongey and don't "bounce back" after being compressed.

Perhaps I'm being careless and rough, or perhaps some PS3 fans are in denial....

You should not throw with them.

R2 on my DS3s are mushy.

my sixaxis works like new since I oiled the left stick

how did that happen?

It (PS3's market share) might hit 30%, but definently not more. ~ Neo

I have the same problem with the R2 on my Sixaxis.

I blame Warhawk

IDK if it's just me, I've never had a problem with my PS1 or 2 controllers. or XBOX, 360, Wii, etc.

Maybe I'm extremely lucky.

Absolutely. Boosting is bad!

i have owned 4 dual shocks controllers.
1 ps2 came with the console after 5 years still works as new
and never had problem with them.

3 second dual shock 2 no problems

only have less than than a year with the sixaxis since dec 2007

and dualshock 3 since june after metal gear solid 4 release.

Controllers are made in China, just like the Wii and 360 controllers. Has no bearing on QC.

I've never had a Sony controller break on me although I usually buy new controllers throughout any console life cycle that receives the most use. If the D-pad or buttons start to look polished due to use, odds are I already have an extra/replacement being used. I prefer using new controllers.

But then I've never dropped or thrown a controller to the ground in the last 20 odd years either. I don't use the Wii strap; don't need it.

While it's possible you've had statistically improbable bad luck with your Sony controllers, it's most likely just you and your playing habits.
